Sheridan R. Barringer

The life of General Rufus Barringer, commander of the North Carolina Cavalry Brigade. Barringer was a progressive man, even before the war, represented the citizens of Cabarrus County in the N. C. Legislature. He served four years in the NC Cavalry, the last year of the war as its commander. Stonewall Jackson and D. H. Hill were his brothers-in-law. He knew President Lincoln, Jefferson Davis, and other leaders.
