Ascend from Darkness is the fifth book in the Cursed in Darkness series. In this installment Layla must confront the darkness in order to save her friends and those she loves. The series reveals more of the heroine, Layla's, background and how she came to be the strong, fearless, fighter that she is. It also gives us a bit more insight into the relationship between Layla and Shade and how much Layla would be willing to do in order to stop evil once and for all.
