Pilgrimage of Promise

Even as high school sweethearts, Mona Beth has always believed her Texas cowboy rancher was the only man for her. But life intervened, their 1960s romance interrupted by college and the Vietnam War. Then sabotage and family pressure bring about hard choices and broken promises.

Now many years later, a dusty stack of unopened love letters and life-threatening diagnosis force the recently reunited couple to sift through the painful past. Can their relationship endure the deception they unearth, or will the experience compel them to trust more fully in the promises that never fail?

Author's Notes

When I wrote my first novel, TEXAS ROADS, in 2009, readers wanted to know more about the matriarch of Miller's Creek, a woman the town has lovingly nicknamed Mama Beth. Three novels later, I decided to tell Mama Beth's story. Of all seven novels I've written, Pilgrimage of Promise is hands down the easiest one I ever wrote. Maybe it's because Mama Beth had been in my heart and head for three years, begging for me to tell her story. Though I love all my stories for very different reasons, Mama Beth's story will always hold a very special place in my heart.
