Degas’s The Chorus was stolen on December 31, 2009 or January 1, December 2010 from the Cantini Museum in Marseilles, France. The Chorus was on loan from the D’Orsay Museum in Paris, along with twenty other pieces. No other items were taken. At the time of the theft, The Chorus was valued at $1.1 million. This is a fictionalized account of what happened since the theft of the Chorus. However, the case remains unsolved.
