Biography

Ann Wales first attended Elmhurst Ballet School in Surrey, after finishing her education she became a ballerina in the Bolshoi Ballet. Following an accident on stage Ann was forced to leave ballet, she chose to become a nurse joining the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Nursing Corps. Whilst serving as a nurse Ann was based at both RN Haslar and at Buckingham Palace in the resident medical corps.

Ann was a Benedictine Nun for a short time; however illness prevented her from taking her vows. Ann returned home to Brockenhurst in Hampshire where she soon met her husband Dr Wales. Not long later Ann was blessed with two children, and so the writing began. Ann’s fictional works started as stories for her two young girls, she was eventually convinced to put them to paper when her children grew up.

Ann published her first Children’s book in 2000 via her own publishing company AWsome Books. In spring 2007 Ann was diagnosed with cancer and sadly passed away in November 2008 leaving some of her books unpublished. Both the GuardianQuest and Ellyllon Histories series of books are influenced by Ann’s life; her love for history, her religious background and a love for JRR Tolkin’s works! AWsome Books is now working to re-publish Ann’s works both in eBook format (via the Kindle) and hopefully in print once again on behalf of her family.
