Aspen Black


Aspen Black is a singer/songwriter, cowgirl poet, author, painter, and award-winning horse woman. She is the owner/operator of Buksbari Ranch, Inc., in Rocky Mount, VA, and founder of the Empowered Riding program. Her Eastern Western Cowgirl CD won the 2015 Rural Roots Music Commission Female Country-Western CD of the Year, her CD, Invisibility, finished as a Top-Five finalist for WMA Cowboy Poetry CD of the Year, 2015, and she is also a
2015 Top-Five WMA Female Poet of the Year. Overall, she has released two country albums, four western CD’s, two cowgirl poetry CD’s, and a non-fiction book. She tours nationally giving concerts, workshops, and equine clinics. Her “voice of an angel" (Dick Shoemaker, YNN-TV), unique instrumentation, and insightful lyrics about horses, cowboys, and the rural lifestyle entertain, and captivate, audiences of all ages.
