Rayne is anxious about the coming of the Crystal Ship and the monster of legend it bears. An Envoy annihilated the world once before, an event almost forgotten. One man, however, remembers, for the creature ruined his life. The enigmatic Shrike has built the Slave Empire on tears and blood, and Rayne must have his assistance if she is to defeat the Envoy.
