About this book

An epic fantasy tale inspired by Japanese mythology and folklore. A dark sorcerer prowls the streets of Tsukiko, stealing noblewomen into the night, and no one can catch him. But Genshu Hidekazu and Genshu Masanori are not warriors; their family abandoned that way of life, encouraging them to pursue other professions instead. When their best friend is kidnapped as well, however, they cannot sit on the sidelines any longer.

Fighting has always been forbidden to them, but now, if they keep turning their backs, their friend is sure to die. They have no choice but to take matters into their own hands.

Author's Notes

Spirit of the Dragon is the first in the Yokai Calling series. This series, prefacing the upcoming Wyvern Wars novels, is a bit of a darling to me. I started writing it after facing a lot of resistance from my characters and how I was portraying their personalities, and when I finally let them breathe, the Yokai Calling novellas came to life instead. I hope you enjoy this book, because I loved writing it!
