Ian T King

Biography

Born in Lincolnshire, England, in 1951, Ian King served for five years in the Royal Navy as a hydrographic surveyor in the early 1970s, before going on to the University of Hull where he graduated with a BA (Honours) degree in Politics in July 1980. He left his native country in September 1980 to attend graduate school at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. In 1984 he earned a PhD from the U of M in political science, moving on in 1985 to take up a teaching position at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. At Hendrix, he served in the department of politics for 26 years, retiring in 2011. Currently,
Ian is Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Politics and International Relations at Hendrix College. He came to fiction writing in retirement, earning his MFA in Creative Writing from the Queens University of Charlotte in 2016. He has published three novels: The Last Eucharist: A True War Story; Leaves in the Wind: A Novel of the Dirty Wars; and, most recently, Siren Song: Har Megiddo 2.0.
