Vampirical Verse

Recovering from near death, cancer and chemotherapy isn't as straightforward as you think it should be.

Freya's physical wounds healed quickly, but the mental, emotional and spiritual fallout from her experiences in 2014/2015 have been anything but simple to deal with.

To process her confusion, pain and darkness, Freya uses vampiric imagery to purge herself of the trauma she has been through.

The result is a collection of poems that reflect Freya's journey as she comes to term with her illness, herself and her life.

Not for the faint hearted! However, those who have experienced trauma, including PTSD, may find these poems bring them comfort and strength.

Author's Notes

I wrote these poems over a number of years, between September 2020 and April 2023. They poured out of me, I didn't have to go looking for them. It was almost as if I needed to release them, one by one, as issues came to the fore in my life and I had to deal with things that I thought were over and done with. Collating the verses in this volume has been a cathartic journey and I hope that my poetry helps you as much as it has helped me. I have recorded 7 poems from this book so far and am in the process of releasing them on my YouTube channel.
